Please join our April ‘Tuesday Talks’ lecturer, Oonie Burley, at 5PM on Tuesday, April 8th, for a Springtime lecture about the importance of trees, notable trees in Chatham, the history of trees around town, and the different groups and organizations that work to protect and preserve the trees in our community. Oonie Burley will be speaking to us on behalf of both her personal work and that of the Friends of Trees organization. Friends of Trees is a non-profit dedicated to improving the physical aspects of Chatham by planting and maintaining trees throughout the community. Oonie will also tell us about how she became so involved with trees to begin with and the different ways she advocates and supports the thriving natural landscape around us.

About Oonie Burley:
Oonie Burley has completed the Radcliffe Seminars Program in Landscape Design and has long been involved with and dedicated to the appreciation, preservation, advocacy, and education of others about the plants and trees in her community. She is a member of Friends of Trees, the Nauset Garden Club, an honorary board member of the Chatham Conservation Foundation, a current board member of Friends of Sylvan Gardens, and owner and president of Patterns Nature. She is an expert on all things plants, and we cannot wait to hear her speak.
