Our Partner Organizations

The Atwood Museum is proud to have many local, regional, and national partner organizations. With each other’s help, we are all able to continue our mission of Bringing History Alive! Please see below for some our great partnerships and collaborations.

Historic Chatham

Historic Chatham is a cooperative effort among Chatham’s many museums and organizations focused on history. It serves as a catalyst for sharing information and resources among organizations. By focusing on all of Chatham’s historic elements, the group fosters synergies among the collective efforts of the individual organizations that keep Chatham history alive. Through its website, www.Historic-Chatham.org, Historic Chatham provides a gateway for connecting to all aspects of Chatham’s history.

The following organizations are members of Historic Chatham:

  • Chatham Marconi Maritime Center / Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum – The Center occupies two buildings on the 11.3-acre, ten-building campus which comprised the former Marconi-RCA Wireless Receiving Station, once the busiest ship-to-shore station on the East Coast and a significant military installation (during World War II). • Chatham Railroad Museum – The Chatham Railroad Museum is located in the beautifully restored 1887 railroad depot that served Chatham residents and visitors for nearly fifty years. Featuring an architectural style called Railroad Gothic, the building contains hundreds of exhibits and the New York Central model locomotives used at the 1939 New York World’s Fair.
