Tuesday Talks: Dan Zoto: The Archeology of the Cape Cod National Seashore

Please join National Park archeologist, Dan Zoto, on March 25th at 5PM for an exciting ‘Tuesday Talks’. Dan will discuss his work for the National Park Service as well as provide an overview of archeology at the Cape Cod National Seashore. Dan will explain how the park conducts archeology within a cultural resource management framework such that it ensures the protection of its archeological resources. The talk will summarize past and present archeological research and provide insights into Native American and Euro-American land use on the Outer Cape. Dan will also be open to questions and discussion at the end of his presentation.

About Dan Zoto:
Dan Zoto holds a B.A. in Anthropology from UMass, Amherst and an M.A. in Anthropology from UConn. He has worked as a professional archeologist since 2010. Dan has published several articles about the archeology of southern New England, including Cape Cod. His research interests include stone tools, lithic sourcing, coastal archeology, and historic cemeteries. Dan started as the Park Archeologist for Cape Cod National Seashore in the Fall of 2024.
