Maria Rindenello-Spraker, Harpist

A native of Harvard, Massachusetts, Maria Rindenello-Spraker is an active teaching artist, chamber musician, orchestral harpist, and soloist in the New England area.

Maria began her career at an early age, performing wedding services with her flutist mother at the age of 11. After 20+ years of professional experience, Maria has collaborated with many top-notch ensembles and musicians including the Portland Symphony, Cape Symphony, Orchestra of Indian Hill, Callithumpian Consort, and alt-pop band The Cherry Tree. Since moving to Cape Cod in 2017, Maria has also performed with local ensembles like the Outer Cape Chorale and Falmouth Chorale, at local events like Gardens Aglow at the Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, as well as weddings and church services across the Cape & Islands. In 2019, she joined the Woods Hole Cantata Consort as soloist for Handel’s Concerto in B-flat. She has also participated in several prestigious summer festivals such as Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, the Aspen Music Festival, and Monadnock Music.

Maria received both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Harp Performance, from New England Conservatory. Shortly after graduating, Maria moved to Chicago to complete a one-year apprenticeship at the Lyon & Healy Harps factory where she became a guild-certified harp technician. She now repairs and maintains harps for fellow professional harpists, hobbyists, and students throughout the East Coast, and has even traveled as far as Barbados to share her skill.

Maria is a passionate teacher to students of all ages, serving on faculty at the Cape Symphony, Indian Hill Music School, and Groton School. She even purchased several Harpsicles (instruments for beginners) in preparation for a new class she hopes to launch in spring 2021.
