Bird Migration on Cape Cod and Photography
Speaker: Kimberly Robbins
Where: Mural Barn, Atwood Museum
When: Tuesday, April 14, 2026 – 5:00 PM
Bird observation isn’t about chasing rarities — it’s about awareness. Growing up in the woods and marshes of South Chatham, Kimberly Robbins learned to pay attention long before she ever picked up a camera. In this talk, she will share how the quality of light, the time of year, tidal shifts, and the simple act of listening shape what we discover during migration on Cape Cod. When we engage all of our senses, migration becomes less of a checklist and more of a relationship — with the birds, and with the landscape itself.

About Kimberly Robbins:
Kimberly Wordell Robbins is a native Cape Codder from South Chatham, where her early experiences on her family’s 63-acre property of woods and marshland nurtured a deep love for wildlife. Growing up, she often helped rescue animals, developing a rare ability to photograph elusive creatures up close. During the pandemic, Kimberly rediscovered her hometown with fresh eyes—exploring new trails, encountering unexpected wildlife, and uncovering her gift for observation and capturing intimate, one-of-a-kind moments with nature. An award-winning photographer (Mass Audubon’s Photo of the Year 2022), Kimberly now documents Cape Cod’s natural beauty with striking intimacy and insight. She is also a dedicated community member, volunteering with Wild Care Cape Cod and serving as a commissioner on the Chatham Parks and Recreation Commission.
Kimberly lives in South Chatham and is the co-owner of a long-standing real estate business specializing in vacation rentals and residential sales. Whether she’s guiding clients through Cape Cod’s housing market or patiently waiting for the perfect wildlife shot, her passion for this community—and the natural world that defines it—shines through in all she does.
