Hearthwarming and Holidays at the Atwood Museum 2024

Come join us as we reign in the holiday season with a hearthwarming, live music, children’s story hours, and refreshments!

SCHEDULE: 10AM Kids’ Story Hour One; 11AM Violinist, Dinah Mellin; 12PM Kids’ Story Hour Two; 1PM Bell Ringers; 2PM Guitarist, Tad Price!

On Saturday, December 14th the museum will be open from 10AM-4PM with FREE admission for all! The hearth of the 1752 sea captain’s house will be ablaze with yuletide cheer. The house will be merrily bright and beautifully decorated inviting you to step back in time and welcome the holidays! Light refreshments and warm beverages will be served alongside the sound of holiday carols and songs. Please dress warmly and bring good cheer!

In addition to the decorated Old House, we will also have several galleries open. Our Gift Shop will being having its annual, Historic Hauls Sale. Our unique Chatham books and local curiosities make special holiday gifts. We will also be collecting new hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for children in need, as well as non-perishables and canned goods. All of these items will be collected and donated to the Cape Cod Family Pantry in the spirit of the holidays!

11am enjoy traditional Christmas music from violinist/fiddler Dinah Mellin. Bells will ring at 1pm for a Holiday Bell Ringers performance. Guitarist Tad Price will play classical music, followed by some holiday jazz beginning at 2pm.

In our brand new Children’s Room, at 10am enjoy a story hour with Donna Kaufmann and at 12pm hear classic stories with Linda Simonitsch. Your little ones can enjoy readings of classic children’s tales: The Mitten, The Snowman, and The Snowy Day.

After December 14th, the museum will reopen in May 2025.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
