OUR MAY SPOTLIGHT CATERER: CASUAL GOURMET

Chef Olive Chase

We love working with Chef Olive Chase, Lisa, Carolyn and all the staff at the Casual Gourmet. Olive Chase founded the Casual Gourmet in 1986 in a tiny Centerville storefront. The original shop, selling assorted gourmet delicacies, was an instant hit, but off-premise catering quickly became the mainstay of the business. The Casual Gourmet and The Casual Gourmet Express are owned and operated by the Chase family who have been Cape Codders from the start. In fact, they have traced their ancestry to Thomas Rogers, who came to Cape Cod aboard the Mayflower. Olive runs the show with more than 35 years of catering and event production experience and some 30 years of restaurant and food service experience prior to that. As the owner and president of The Casual Gourmet, Olive oversees our main bakery and cafe, and a catering operation that plans and hosts more than 100 weddings each year.

Rental Reviews

“Your team was so great to work with. Our party was a great success. Thank you to everyone especially Pandora, who made sure it all ran smoothly. Our guests enjoyed the event and also getting to know the Atwood as many of our guests had never been. Much appreciated.” Kathleen O’Connor
“It was such a fun night, and we cannot thank you enough for all that you did for our successful celebration. We received lots of positive feedback from many guests. They said the vibe was awesome and they lost track of time enjoying the museum. Thank You and all the volunteers for making it a beautiful celebration and working with us!” Julia Klubuk
“We recently hosted a brunch for family and friends on our wedding weekend. We rented The Atwood House Museum and Stallknecht Barn and were so pleased with our event!…Kevin answered all of our questions and always responded in a timely way…Our guests ate in the mural barn and then were met by a handful of wonderfully informed docents who toured our guests through the museum to learn about Chatham’s history. We had both adults and children (the Atwood House has wonderful children’s exhibits) and we got lots of feedback about what a great idea it was to have our Sunday brunch there. Everyone loved the food (thanks to Marion’s Pie Shop) and the ambience. Guests were impressed by the museum’s quality. Huge success — we…highly recommend the Stallknecht Mural Barn to anyone looking to host a gathering.”
