The Chatham Historical Society will be hosting their annual fundraiser, An Evening to Remember on July 13. This year the gala will be held at the breathtaking  “Sea La Vie” estate in Chathamport, owned by Jamie & John Selldorff. This estate, located on the grounds of the former Naval Air Station, is complete with stunning views of Fox Hill and Strong Island. Join us for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and beautiful waterfront views as we celebrate the summer season and raise funds for the Chatham Historical Society.


New announcement:

This year's “Bringing History to Life” award will be presented to the founding members of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center. Congratulations to our friends at CMMC!

Our generous key corporate sponsors Wequassett Resort and Golf Club will provide a variety of libations and Chatham Bars Inn is offering sumptuous hors d'oeuvres to this summer’s gala. There will be live and silent auctions taking place throughout the evening with wonderful prizes such as an airplane ride to see aerial views of the coast, a mixology class for 12 at Port Royal House, a private fashion show for 12 with discounts on purchases, a personal clambake for 10, and much more.

Space is limited so be sure to get there early to buy a ticket at the door!  This event often sells out.

Tickets are $100 per person, and can now only be bought at the door.

Leading up to the event itself, three of the silent auction items are available for bidding online starting now! Click here to preview these items and place bids. These items include a tour of the WGBH studio with Emily Rooney, a dinner for 2 on the beach at CBI, and an assortment of wines personally selected by the Evening to Remember Committee and our Board of Trustees.

For the winner: Experience a special Evening of Fashion for 12 in beautiful surroundings while enjoying wine and appetizers. Prepare to have all of your fashion questions and personal challenges answered. Later, experience a private shopping experience and enjoy a 20% discount. Experience a class in mixology followed by libations and hors d’oeuvres on the porch overlooking Main Street in Chatham and a tour of Cape Cod’s only Tuscan Villa Style home, built in 1863 and listed on the National Historic Register.

Meet us at 3pm in the North Beach parking lot and we’ll transport you by jeep for a beach picnic. Beginning with a champagne toast and appetizers, we’ll provide a delicious dinner ending with S’mores!

Restrictions: for a party of 8, this fall and depending on the plovers!

Join owner Eric Broege for a two -hour Sail in Nantucket Sound for 6 aboard a 22-foot traditional wooden catboat. During your sail, Tony Davis will discuss the history of wooden catboats in Chatham. After that sail, a short ride will take you to the former home of actress Julie Harris, where you will feast on fresh oysters and sip artisan champagne.

This year we have another great assortment of auction items from our generous supporters, including a cashmere topper donated by Johnson & Smith, a jade, aquamarine, peridot & sterling silver woven bead bracelet donated by Chatham Jewelers Inc., and two autographed books donated by Bernard Cornwell.  Some of the silent auction items will be available for advance bidding soon.
