Historic Chatham is pleased to announce the coming of Chatham History Tours in celebration of History Weekend.
The tours are 90-minute guided bus rides throughout the town of Chatham. The event is generously sponsored by Chatham Beachcomber Boat Tours and Cape Cod 5 Foundation. Volunteer tour guide and local history buff, Ron Clark will be highlighting key historic landmarks and venues throughout Chatham. Various brief stops include the Grist Mill, Atwood House & Museum, Monomoy Wildlife Refuge, Marconi- RCA Wireless Museum, and the Railroad Museum. At each stop along the tour, representatives from the venues will board the bus and give a short presentation about the historic significance of their sites to Chatham.
Tours will be leaving the Railroad Museum at 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm. Reservations are encouraged and tickets can be purchased in advance with a credit card by telephone or dropping off a check at the Atwood House & Museum. This is a Historic Chatham event. Historic Chatham is a cooperative effort among Chatham’s museums and non-profit organizations focused on history. The group serves as a catalyst for sharing information and resources among organizations in an effort to keep Chatham’s history alive.
Chatham Walks, a walking tour of historic Main Street, will also be offered on Saturday, June 22 at 10 am. Join Tim Wood as he provides
