Exterior view of the Atwood House in Summer

Photographs

The photograph collection consists of over 6,000 images related to the town of Chatham and its inhabitants. Large portions of the images are of individuals and groups of individuals, the majority of whom have been identified. As most of the collection has been scanned and cataloged, it is possible to search the database for specific individuals. In addition to images of people, there are 20 other categories of pictures including town events, local streetscapes, maritime related activities and governmental functions. Research within our photographic database may be done at the Atwood by making an appointment with the Archives department.

If you have items you would like to donate to the collection, please contact the museum by phone at 508-945-2493, or by emailing the Executive Director, Kevin Wright, at [email protected].
